Missing You

This is sort of a apology picture for a friend of mine whom I don't get to see all that often and happens to be a Kale fan. This is done almost entirely color pencil except some of the lines are with marker and some clean up was done via air brush on the computer.

My favorite part about coloring the picture was the flower. I wanted it to a subtle color varying in pastel blues and purples. There are 3 types of blue 1 in marker and 2 shades of color pencil while the purple was only using 1 shade of purple. All the blending was done via a white color pencil. The Pistil of the flower is varying between red and orange with white for blending (which somehow during the blending process yellow came out). The Stigma of the flower is yellow and orange. I generally wanted to keep the colors simple and not do anything drastic. Though I swiftly regretted coloring his shell in the sense of I have never used color pencil to color his shell. I've always painted it because it was far easier. It was a task and a half to make sure the color was right and it blended well.

Overall color count: Red, orange, yellow, 3 greens, 3 blues, purple, brown, black, and white.
